Microneedling, also known as ‘collagen induction therapy’, is a cosmetic procedure that involves using multiple, tiny, sterilized needles to prick the skin, to prompt the deeper layer of the skin to generate new collagen and elastin. In short, the goal is to stimulate your body to send healing agents (elastin and collagen) to help repair the skin. This results in a smoother, firmer, and toned skin. This minimally invasive procedure is commonly used to treat skin conditions like acne, wrinkles, enlarged pores, stretch marks, scars, and hair loss (alopecia).

What To Expect Post-Treatment?

You will notice improvement in the texture and tone of your skin within the next few weeks of your treatment due to the generation of new tissue in your skin. Multiple sessions may be required to meet your individual skin goals. You may experience slight redness, irritation, swelling, or bruising in the treated area, which is a natural reaction to the needles used during the treatment, and should subside within a few days. Avoid direct exposure to sunlight and use a broad range sunscreen lotion on all exposed areas of your skin. Your skin will feel tighter and warmer than usual, which is a natural reaction to the treatment. You will have to wait for 48 hours before returning to your normal skincare routine.
